How to Use the BS Detector
The Duck built this one personally — it's got "stink line" energy for a reason. The BS Detector scans your car finance quote and tells you what smells off.

Here's how to use it:
- 1Grab your finance quote — this could be from a dealer, a broker, or a bank. You'll need the key numbers: loan amount, interest rate, loan term, any fees, and balloon payment if applicable.
- 2Enter the details — punch in each number from your quote. Don't skip the fees, even the small ones — that's where the BS lives.
- 3Hit detect — the BS Detector goes to work, comparing your quote against what's normal and fair in the Aussie car finance market.
- 4Read your results — you'll get a breakdown of what looks legit, what looks dodgy, and what's straight-up BS.
The Duck will flag things like:
- •Interest rates that are way above market average
- •Hidden fees that weren't mentioned upfront
- •Balloon payments that are too large for the loan term
- •Loan terms that cost you more in the long run
- •Add-ons inflated above their real cost
Pro tip from The Guy: Run the BS Detector BEFORE you sign anything. If you've already signed, run it anyway — you might still be within the cooling-off period and able to walk away.
